I'm Louise (or weez), a 27-year-old, happily married little Catholic mother. I am married to a man so splendid I never could have dreamed him up, so I'm glad God did. My husband and I are both from Youngstown, Ohio. We have lived all 6 years of our married life in State College, Pennsylvania, where he earned his doctorate (and I earned my master's) at Penn State. I taught computing and math courses at a local career school for a year and a half before our delightful daughter was born in June 2010. Now I am a stay-at-home mom to her and our son, born March 2013.
Most of my time is devoted to taking care of my chillun, but when I get moments to do weez things, I enjoy cooking, taking walks in the park, drinking dry white wine, and reading about religion, language, psychology, anthropology, philosophy, and geology. My favorite works of fiction include Pride and Prejudice, To Kill a Mockingbird, A Tale of Two Cities, and The Great Gatsby. I love poetry and music and art. I play the piano tolerably well, but I have never been able to compose music, and I'm afraid I don't have an artistic bone in my body. I dearly love to laugh and I am very silly, but only around people I know well. (And, sometimes, on the Internet.)
I am deeply in love with my faith, and I try to learn more about it all the time. For the past few years, I have consumed a steady diet of Catholic blogs. Inspired, I have made a couple feeble attempts to author my own. They failed miserably, and I was very discouraged. Recently, however, I have come to realize and accept that writing a purely faith-based blog is simply not my calling, at least not now.
What, then, is wonderful world of weez? It's my life, my thoughts, my impressions, my joys, my sorrows, my hopes, my dreams. I may write about faith, family, friends, food, frustrations, fantasies, or flatulence. When I first started this blog, I had aspirations of keeping a regular schedule of posts (e.g., something about mothering on Mondays, something about food on Tuesdays, etc.), and I'd like to eventually get into that sort of rhythm and update this "About Me" accordingly, but I'm just not there yet.
So, welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay. :)
